... [ c64 / back in time live 2001 ( london ) ]

I was accompanied to the London event by an old friend of mine, Jools ! He runs Exotica, this site is dedicated to the Commodore Amiga. We left Oxford at 7:30 pm and caught the Oxford Tube Coach bound for London. Both of us felt pretty grotty, but this didn't deter the evening ahead. Finally at 9:10 pm, we arrived at Marble Arch and caught a classic London Taxi to Soho. I have to admit that we did get lost a bit, but after asking a man using his Mobile Phone, our direction was then realised. Boz was there to greet us and as we waited, Kenz turned up and very merry he was ! ;o)

After a few more minutes, we entered the Club, paying our entrance fee and to the evening ahead. It was nice to see the familiar faces from BiT Live Birmingham again, I met Darren Izzard and shook his hand. I really liked the Hi-score competitions, it added a nice feature to the evening. The vibe of the night was great, I actually spoke to some C64 celebrities this time. Briefly to Jon Hare, but more to Jason Page, Jeff Minter and Richard Joseph. I took some Photos and also got them to sign my AxLe T-Shirt. In fact, many people signed it ! ;o) I would like to thank those that took their time to do so ! I also spoke to Llando about the C64 and Plus/4 scene. It is nice to see that there is dedication and support throughout Commodore Computers.

I bought Frank Abbott and Jeff Minter a Pint, but I can't remember buying Richard Joseph one, so sorry if I forgot you Richard !

I only bought a Poster from the BiT Shop, but there were lots of freebies thanks to Frank Abbott. Funny really, I actually won part of the IK+ Hi-Score competition and won a goody bag ! :o) It included Blitz Basic, which I already owned, but hey ! It was good to win it ! I did however find a CD Player amongst my winnings. I e-mailed Chris Abbott and Darren Izzard about this matter, it was in fact Chris Abbott's ! So, I contacted Chris and it was sent back to him via Registered Mail.

Jools and I had to leave at 1 pm, so we missed the remainder of the event ! :o( BiT Live London was fantastic, I really hope that another event is organised in the near distant future !
